Su silueta atemporal y sus inquietantes leyendas siguen cautivando a visitantes de todo el mundo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Or\u00edgenes antiguos e importancia estrat\u00e9gica<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Aunque se discute la fecha exacta de su construcci\u00f3n, muchos historiadores creen que los or\u00edgenes de la Torre de la Doncella se remontan al siglo V a.C.. Construida inicialmente por los antiguos atenienses, probablemente sirvi\u00f3 de atalaya para vigilar el tr\u00e1fico naval a trav\u00e9s del estrecho B\u00f3sforo, una ruta militar y comercial clave que conecta el Mar Negro con el Mar de M\u00e1rmara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A lo largo de los siglos, la torre fue reconstruida y reutilizada por gobernantes romanos, bizantinos y otomanos. Ha funcionado como puesto militar, control de aduanas, faro e incluso estaci\u00f3n de cuarentena durante los brotes de c\u00f3lera del siglo XIX.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Leyendas que forjaron su nombre<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>El nombre y la fama de la torre se deben en gran parte a la <strong>leyendas que lo rodean<\/strong>. El relato m\u00e1s famoso habla de un emperador bizantino que recibi\u00f3 una profec\u00eda en la que se le anunciaba que su hija morir\u00eda por la mordedura de una serpiente al cumplir 18 a\u00f1os. En un intento de desafiar al destino, la encerr\u00f3 en la torre de un islote aislado. Tr\u00e1gicamente, una serpiente escondida en una cesta de fruta entr\u00f3 en la torre y cumpli\u00f3 la profec\u00eda. Desde entonces, la torre se conoce como la Torre de la Doncella.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Otra leyenda popular cuenta el tr\u00e1gico romance de un joven que nadaba hasta la torre cada noche para visitar a su amada. Una noche de tormenta, se ahog\u00f3 en el B\u00f3sforo, y la doncella, desconsolada, salt\u00f3 de la torre para unirse a \u00e9l en la muerte.
